Jimmy Smith is a hard-working litigator that focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation issues. Clients have come to appreciate Jimmy for the seriousness with which he regards every legal matter.
Jimmy attended Baylor University where he received his undergraduate degree before pursuing his law degree at South Texas College of Law. While attending South Texas College of Law, Jimmy worked as a research assistant and a supplemental teaching assistant. In addition to his duties as a research and teaching assist, Jimmy worked as an intern at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Jimmy worked in the Office’s Asset Forfeiture Division, where he drafted discovery, assisted in taking depositions, and more. Jimmy also worked in the Office’s Misdemeanor Division, where he obtained a broad range of experience. He represented the State in probable cause hearings, gathered evidence on behalf of the State, drafted pretrial motions and other documents, and evaluated cases for trial.
After working for the District Attorney’s Office, Jimmy interned at Walker & Taylor, PLLC where he conducted extensive research focused on distinguishing the differences and overlap in federal and state laws. Upon graduating law school, Jimmy joined Johnson & Associates, PLLC and uses his extensive background in research and procedure to develop innovative legal strategies.
