Rebekah L. Saunders

Rebekah L. Saunders

Senior Counsel

Rebekah is a seasoned litigator with a successful track record of handling more than 50 jury and bench trials to verdict. Her 15+ years of practice have been grounded in courtroom experience, strategic thinking, and a disciplined approach to complex legal disputes.  Though Rebekah began her legal career in criminal litigation, she has since transferred her fierce advocacy skills into winning for her clients in civil and estate litigation cases. Her diverse experience uniquely positions her to tackle the most intricate and high-stakes civil cases with skill and precision.

Colleagues and clients rely on Rebekah’s sharp legal judgment, command of federal and state procedure, and natural ability to persuade judges and juries alike.  Most recently, Rebekah represented the United States of America when serving as an Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, where she handled a wide range of complex and high-profile matters including multi-million-dollar fraud schemes, law enforcement abuse of authority, decades-long investigations and multi-count indictments. In this role, she developed expertise in federal court practice—experience that now directly informs her civil litigation strategies.  Prior to her time as an AUSA, she mastered state laws and court procedures as an attorney primarily practicing in Fort Bend and Galveston Counties, excelling in delivering favorable results in fast-paced legal environments.

Now focused on civil litigation, Rebekah’s extensive experience equips her to handle all types of civil litigation, bringing exceptional poise in the courtroom, an investigative mindset, and a rigorous, trial-ready approach.  Having sent the most hardened criminals to prison for maximum life sentences, that same tenacity now defines her work in private practice.  Whether advocating for individuals or companies, Rebekah doesn’t flinch.  She knows how to navigate high-conflict situations, take control of a courtroom, and push back against intimidation tactics – skills forged from years of standing toe-to-toe with the toughest adversaries the justice system has to offer.

An experienced trainer and dynamic public speaker, Rebekah is frequently selected to lead legal education seminars, courtroom skills workshops, and internal training programs, speaking at over 20 conferences and training opportunities across the state of Texas.  Offering her expertise in high-profile cases, Rebekah has been a featured guest on national platforms including Court TV and Sword and Scale podcast, where she provided in-depth analysis and commentary on cases she litigated that caught national attention.  Her ability to break down complex legal issues for both professional and public audiences underscore her reputation as a leader in the legal community.

Rebekah is a proud Wolverine, having attended the University of Michigan for her undergraduate degree before moving to San Francisco to pursue her law degree at Golden Gate University – School of Law.  Rebekah was a Moot Court Board member and winner of the 2007 Appellate Advocacy competition. After graduating law school, Rebekah met her native Texan husband and relocated to the Lone Star State, where they are raising three dynamic kids.  Rebekah is licensed to practice law in both Texas and California.
