Robert maintains a diverse civil trial practice and has handled hundreds of lawsuits in which he has been responsible for both trial and appellate victories for clients ranging from individuals to multi-national corporations. Robert is undeterred by the size or complexity of any case and has litigated cases all over the state of Texas and the United States involving injunctive relief and damage claims ranging from a few thousand dollars to more than $700 million. Robert has experience litigating and resolving matters involving breach of contract, construction defects/delays, a variety of oil and gas matters, shareholder disputes, business divorces, defamation, debt collection practices, negligence, premises liability, heavy trucking, maritime claims, fraud, medical malpractice, personal injuries, fatality accidents, HOA disputes, third-party insurance claims, and subrogation. He uses his thorough knowledge of the law, adaptable tenacity, and creativity to develop successful strategies to achieve his clients’ goals.
In addition to his trial practice, Robert advises individuals and businesses on the best ways to prevent a variety of issues. Robert has successfully assisted his business clients with company formations and dissolutions, stock transactions, commercial lease drafting and negotiations, property sales, commercial loan transactions, and general contract review and drafting, among others. As the husband of a business owner, Robert understands a business’ needs and goals from the business’ perspective. Robert prides himself on having the foresight to identify both opportunities and issues for his clients well in advance of them materializing, and the ability to provide practical advice to effectively address each situation.
Robert earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, where he competed nationally and internationally with the University’s Moot Court team. Prior to law school, Robert attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he received his B.A. in Government. There, he competed nationally as a rower for Texas Crew, and earned regional and national titles.
Robert has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys spending his spare time out of the office camping, rock climbing, high-altitude mountaineering, and hunting. He and his wife, Jessica, enjoy exploring the Houston restaurant scene and traveling to new places.
