Richard Gorman brings to Johnson & Associates, PLLC over thirty years of experience investigating casualties, litigating complex tort and contract cases, and counselling clients on how best to resolve perplexing problems, whether they be internal, external, domestic or international. Richard’s litigation experience casts a wide net. He has proven litigation experience in all facets of the admiralty and maritime field, and with cases involving products liability, contract and commercial disputes, collections, fire damage, real property disputes, personal injury defense, and personal injury prosecution. He relishes the challenge of handling cases from initial investigation through trial and appeal.
Richard graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in accounting. He is a magna cum laude graduate from South Texas College of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. While in law school, he clerked for the Honorable David Hittner, Judge in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He is admitted to practice in the State of Texas, in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Western, Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, in the United States Courts of Appeal for the Second and Fifth Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court. Additionally, he has handled cases in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, and the state courts of Wyoming and Kentucky.
When not working, Richard spends time with his family, pursues the elusive Silver King, chases trophy speckled trout, and enjoys playing a round of golf at the Bentwater Yacht & Country Club.
